RookChat (3/27/08)
Over and over again reminded of the difficulties of getting an RPG group together facing each other across
a physical wood and sap table, I've been wanting to find a way to make the LootHack RPG playable over the internet.
The current system is card based (standard 52 deck), but the search to find an interactive online card program that doesn't
have an iron-clad set of pre-programmed rules proved fruitless. I decided to switch to a dice-based system and so went
looking for a reliable chat room with a dice bot. I found dice bots, but many were limited in their live online applications. I
found chat rooms, but they spammed my browser and made me feel dirty to surf among them. When all hope seemed lost after
my intensive twenty minute search, a savior revealed itself. RookChat comes with advanced dice rollers and a slew of commands specially
made with RPG games in mind. I'm still in the very beginning stages of the RPG design and the RookChat workings,
but so far things look very promising.
